Linden Hall is the oldest school in America, with a 260-year history and traditions dating back to its foundation in 1746, in Lititz, Pennsylvania. The name Linden Hall comes from the Linden tree, and represents intellectual challenge and respect.
Inside Linden Hall School is written the Latin motto "Non scholae sed vitae discimus," meaning "Not just for school, but for life."
Linden Hall School and the Tsuzuki Gakuen had for some time conducted international exchange as sister schools, and with the opening of our school, we received this venerable name and called our school 'Linden Hall Elementary School'
The Linden tree which is the symbol of Linden Hall Elementary School (The Lindenbaum) is celebrated in Schubert's famous 'Lindenbaum', and in early summer in particular bears charming fruit from its fragrant pale yellow blossoms and beautiful green leaves. Its leaves transform in the autumn to yellow. A mature tree will grow up to 50 metres tall.
